Learn to Read Charts!
When: Saturday, May 4 from 1:00 - 4:00
Where: Unraveled (9 Wilson St. East, Perth)
An increasing number of patterns, particularly in magazines, are only providing charts to save space. This 3-hour workshop will focus on how to read charts for knitting lace and cables.
- Part 1: Cables – How to read the schematic to understand how many stitches are involved in the cable and which way the cable is twisting as well as a discussion of how to work cable stitches both with and without a cable needle.
- Part 2: Lace – Includes a review of standard symbols and how to read the schematic
Students should be comfortable with knit and purl stitches
What do you need to provide?
Students are responsible for providing their own yarn and needle(s) for practice. Smooth DK or Worsted weight yarn in a solid colour is recommended. Leftover yarn from earlier projects is perfect.
